Release of Information in California E-book series

The Release of Information (ROI) in California is a series of 12 e-books that will help you navigate and understand the complex state and federal laws as well as best practices related to managing and releasing protected health information. The ROI e-book series contains content that falls under HIPAA, other federal regulations, and content that is specific to California laws and regulations.

Each ROI e-book includes an overview of the topic and extensive references. Quizzes are designed in multiple-choice and/or true/false format, designed to measure your understanding of the subject matter. A Certificate of Completion is in included in each e-book.

The purpose of this ROI e-book series is to provide accurate and authoritative information with regard to proper and adequate disclosure of health information. The California Health Information Association is not engaged in rendering legal services, and providing legal advice is beyond the scope and intent of the e-books.

CHIA recommends you read the “Release of Information in California: Introduction” e-book first. This first e-book is offered at no charge and it includes the “Glossary of Terms” that is used in all subsequent ROI e-books.
