This will include review of the surgical range CPT code changes and the new Category III codes as well as discussion of the new hydration CPT codes and a review of injection and infusion coding. In order to better understand the CPT changes, the rationale and clinical information will be provided on many of the CPT codes. The presenters will discuss the surgical procedure elements and the APC impact on reimbursement. In addition, there will be CPT case examples on which to practice your coding skills, so having your 2009 CPT coding book with you is a must!

SPEAKER
Gloryanne Bryant, RHIA, CCS
Ms.Bryant is the Corporate Senior Director of Coding HIM Compliance for Catholic Healthcare West (CHW). She has responsibility for the coding and documentation compliance of 41 acute care facilities and a variety of other non-hospital-based health care entities (outpatient settings, SNF and Rehab) in three states. She has the charge of developing, implementing/setting and maintaining system wide coding policies, and creating internal coding compliance auditing and monitoring team and process.
JoEllen Cowan, RHIT, CCS
Ms Cowan has more than 20 years experience in the Health Information Management profession and has worked for two major health systems in California. She is Corporate Coding HIM Compliance Manager for Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) where she has oversight of seven CHW facilities and affiliated clinics in Northern California. Her major area of responsibility is coding and HIM compliance and ongoing education to the CHW system wide coding staff.

CANCELLATION and SUBSTITUTIONS
Cancellations received up to five working days before the seminar are refundable, minus a $30 registration service charge. Cancellations received within five working days of seminar may request to have a portion of the paid registration fee applied toward a future CHIA seminar (must be used in 12 months). This request must be made in writing and the registration service charge will still apply. If you don’t cancel and don’t attend, you are responsible for full payment. Substitutions may be made; the appropriate member or nonmember fee will apply to the substitute. Please contact CHIA Executive Office to make any cancellations or substitutions.
