IAHIA President’s Message

Posted January 2017

January is always a crucial time of the year for our profession at both the State and Local levels. It is the time of the year we cast our ballots for the CHIA and Component Local Association Board of Director positions and search for new volunteers. As addressed in my December message, it is the time of year we are in need of those willing to volunteer to support our profession’s growth and the continuing growth of IAHIA.

It is hard to imagine what could or will happen to our component local associations if our volunteer pool dries up. We stand to lose the future of local educational sessions, the HIM scholarship fund, and any face-to-face networking gatherings. That to me is a devastating loss.

If you are interested in volunteering, I WANT to hear from you. You can reach me via email IAHIA@CaliforniaHIA.org.

IAHIA endorses our very own Melany Merryman. She is everything CHIA needs, commitment, service, innovation, and yes, enhancement of the HIM professional practice. Cast your ballot for Melany before 4:00 PST on January 20th.
