Review patient documentation to abstract and assign codes for reimbursement, reporting, and clinical repositories using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4, including assignment of Diagnostic Related Groups (DRGs). Query medical providers for information needed to complete or clarify medical records, and to resolve discrepancies. Review patient documentation to assign and verify proper coding for reimbursement, reporting, and clinical repositories.
CCS, RHIT, or RHIA Certification. Experience in coding all types of patient care records. At least two years experience coding in an acute care setting. Travel within California and neighboring states.
