Volunteers are CHIA’s most valuable asset – it cannot survive or function without its volunteers. There are Committees, Task Forces as necessary to implement the business of CHIA. The composition, size and duties of the Committees, Task Forces are set forth in the CHIA Policy and Procedure Manual and subject to approval by the CHIA Board of Directors.
The CHIA Board and Component Local Association (CLA) leaders recognize the importance increasing membership active involvement in building a strong Association that provides optimal educational, networking, resources, and leadership opportunities for our members. We are continually seeking members to fill volunteer roles to help in this endeavor.
During the fall months, the CHIA President-elect, will be asking many members to chair or serve as members of the various committees and task forces. Many committees are able to conduct most or all of their business via phone conferences and e-mail, requiring very few, if any, face-to face meetings which saves both time and travel. In exchange for the time and effort you invest as a CHIA volunteer, you’ll receive the benefits of strengthening your professional network, enhancing your leadership skills and developing new friendships, just to name a few.

If you have a particular interest in one or more of these committees and task forces, please indicate that in your e-mail. If you are one of our many dedicated volunteers on these committees and task forces this year, you are encouraged to consider continuing your service. Each year we try to have representation on these committees and task forces from the various Component Local Associations. Therefore, you can see we need lots and lots of volunteers.

This questionnaire was developed to identify the areas and types of volunteer activities in which members are most interested. This information will be shared with CHIA and CLA leaders for their use in making appointments to volunteer roles.
